Ilchi Lee says that to a human being, there are three kinds of life. One is physical life. This is what all living things on the earth have. From mammals, fish, bugs, reptiles, birds and even bacteria all have physical life. Without it, they cannot literally survive.
Second is social life. This is what some mammals have too. Not all living things have this. For example, lions fight each other until they figure out which male one is the most powerful one. And he leads the group of lions. These animals fight for their social life very fiercely. When two animals fight to get the title of the leader, they often risk their lives. They fight until one is dead or so wounded that he gives up. Once they figure out who is the winner and the leader, they follow his order and leadership. He enjoys having sex with female lions, while other male ones should be very careful when they have sex for their leader not to know it.
People want social life too. That is why they work so hard to have success. However, if all people strive only for success, the peace for society and humanity will not be possible. Since social life takes recognition and competition, conflict, despair and frustration inevitably follow. Sense of inferiority results in hatred and revenge. That’s why we have so many wars in the current world, even though we have so many religions, religious leaders, NGOs for peace and political leaders who claims that they want peace.
It is all about connection. Please find quotes by Ilchi Lee on connection. You should really feel deeply that all humans are connected. Only then you should feel spiritual life. And when you have spiritual life, you can feel that all are connected. As far as success is concerned, because normally success is based on competition, not all people can gain success. However if people live their lives for completion, it is different story. There is no limitation of completion. You don’t need to compete with others for completion. You should only fight with yourself for completion. The gate of completion is open to everybody and all human beings can gain completion.

Ilchi Lee emphasizes about the importance of one’s dream a lot. Let’s say that there are two persons with same talents, similar appearances, similar personalities and similar background. What makes difference between these two persons? There can be many factors which will affect their lives, but what will be the most significant one? Ilchi Lee says it is one’s dream. Depending on what kind of dream and vision each person has, and on how badly each one wants to achieve their vision, their lives will be dramatically different.
How much meaningful one’s life is, if you don’t have any dream? How different two persons’ lives will be if the one’s dream is to make a happy family and the other has no dream at all? Some people spend their precious time away meaninglessly in spite of their physical condition is not bad at all. We can easily see these kind of people on the street or in our daily lives.

Do I have an earnest desire in my heart? Ilchi Lee says on Earnest Desire. There is a chick trying to come out into the world in the egg. She is cracking the shell inside. At the same time, the mother hen pecks at the shell from the outside. This occurs at the same time. Otherwise a disaster will happen. A new world is opened in front of the baby chick and the mother hen by the united strength of the chick who wants to come out into the world and of the mother hen to help her offspring to see the sun.
Lots of people say they are inspired by something. I heard Michelangelo found a wonderful man, who is confined in a rock. Nobody else could see the man. All they could see was just an ordinary, plain rock. From that day, he worked on carving the rock on and on, day by day. Months later—perhaps years later—the man who had been confined the rock, was saved and any body could see it. He was the David sculpture that Michelangelo created.
Like this, people are inspired. However why some gets inspired and other’s don’t by the same object or incident? Ilchi Lee says, when you have an ardent wish in your heart, everything in the world becomes a mother hen, who helps her offspring to come out into the world from inside an egg. It boils down to the dream. Do you have a dream and goal for your life? What do you want and wish earnestly in your life?

In his new book Brain Wave Vibration, Ilchi Lee says brain stem’s role on human’s life is very important and precious. Basically, the role of the brain stem is keep people’s state of equilibrium. Although he knows well that the complex human brain is not something that can be explained in the simple model, Ilchi Lee describes that it has the three-layer system. The three layers are neocortex, limbic system and the brain stem.
Neocortex decides your thoughts, that’s why its other name is the thinking brain. This is what differentiates a human being from an animal. Only primates and human beings have this part of the brain. The limbic system controls emotions and feeling. It is more basic function than neocortex. All mammals have this part of the brain. Yes, they have emotions. The brain stem is the life brain. It has the most fundamental functions to keep a human being alive.
In the brain stem, it is said to have innate infinite potential power. It is also said that 95% of the brain is not used and humans are using only 5% of their brain. The rest 95% of dormant power resides in the brain stem.

Can one pursue multiple dreams at once? If it is possible, how seriously he wants his dream? Which one of the two or three or more is his best dream? If there is something one really wants, she might really focus on it. She might not think anything else. However, let’s say that Peter wants to buy a house. His dream is to buy a beautiful house with a great view. But at the same time, he might want to buy a Ferrari too. So it really doesn’t matter of how many dreams you pursue.
That being said, what if Peter really wants to buy a house and he chose a great house with a fantastic view? The house is so expensive that he should spend most of his fortune on the house. Then it is a matter of choice. Which one does he want more badly? This will decide which dream he pursues.
Ilchi Lee mentions about pursuing two dreams. According to Ilchi Lee, if one wants to accomplish something quickly and without compromising quality, she should focus on one thing at a time. So, all the points boil down to this question. How much do you want this? How badly do you want to do this? What can you risk for it?

Ilchi Lee says a lot about hope these days. I read Ilchi Lee on hope on a blog.
In a way, though, we do have this owner’s manual, but we must relearn how to read it. It exists in the form of the inherent wisdom that is every person’s birthright. If we can just get out of its way, all of this wisdom is right there, written into the very nature of the brain itself.
Ilchi Lee says that he knows that if you read the Brain Wave Vibration book, you are already interested in your own self-development. That is rare and wonderful in itself, but I would like you to make one small shift in your perspective on that. Please change your self-development mind into your infinite-development mind. In other words, really believe in your true potential and feel the joy of your own infinite nature. Run, do not walk, forward—the world is waiting for you. Don’t settle for good enough; stop making limits. To create limits is to deny life, and limits are a desecration of your brain. When we really know the brain, it’s when we have hope.

Today, I read an excerpt from Ilchi Lee’s book Brain Wave Vibration.
It’s about “Ilchi Lee one You are the Earth.” I am impressed that he suggests we seek reconnection to the Earth as a source of hope in the World. Most of all, the Earth is our one common value. I don’t think I ever imagined the Earth as the common value of people. I might have done that for a certain period of time, but not that much strongly I have pondered over about that. I didn’t even think about applying that to my life.
I have never been to space, which I really want to, before I die, but it is clear from photos of NASA, that the Earth has no real borders, except where the planet ends and space begins. All borders on the planet are made by human beings. We must rally around the Earth real soon, or we risk losing not only her but also our own life.
We value our citizenship a lot. However, before we are Americans or Canadians, we are Earth Humans. Al Gore’s environmental movement against Global Warming has similar message. It’s time to take action.

Young teenagers understand this instinctively, and thus they often seek to define themselves through associations with certain music styles. Unfortunately, the music they seek is not always that which lifts them to higher states; more often they are drawn to music that resonates with their current state of consciousness. Just as they are drawn to other kids with similar levels of consciousness, says Ilchi Lee, they are drawn to music that resonates with their current brain wave patterns. In other words, a dark, angst-ridden teen is likely to be drawn to similarly themed music, where a more happy-go-lucky type might be more inclined to upbeat pop tunes. The same is also true for adults, even if somewhat less obviously.
You can see the effect of music throughout the history of humanity. It is an element that appears in every human culture and thus is often called the “universal language.” Ilchi Lee says music clearly possesses an uncanny ability transform human consciousness. This is evident in the fact that music is an integral part of virtually every spiritual practice on Earth. It also has the power to transform cultures.
A relatively recent example is rock and roll, which brought dramatic social change with it. At the time, people who supported the status quo reacted strongly against the music, sensing the inherent, almost primal power that it contains. In a way, Brain Wave Vibration, created by Ilchi Lee, works very similarly to music like this, its rhythms opening the mind to new experiences and ideas.

Through this sort of energy dance, you will find that your body moves in just the way that it needs to move. Your body will find motions and stretches that will open the flow of energy in your body in just the right way. Your entire body, the spinal column and all the peripheral nerves, all the blood vessels and all the muscles, will move in unison with your own internal rhythms. Ilchi Lee says that in this way, you become your body’s own personal yoga instructor, creating movements that exactly fit your body’s needs at that moment. Every part of your body will open to vital healing energy.
Ilchi Lee says he believes that there is a direct parallel between the condition of your body and the condition of your brain. When you release the stiffness in your body, you are also creating flexibility in your brain. In this way you become the instinctive, spontaneous healer of your own body and mind.
According to Ilchi Lee, music itself has its own level of consciousness and thus can have an effect on the consciousness of the listener. David Hawkins, the man who created the Map of Consciousness, tested various genres of music and found that they all possess a certain level of consciousness. For example, classical music as a whole calibrated at a higher level than country music, and country music in general calibrated higher than rap.

Music, because of its specific and far-reaching metaphorical powers, can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable. Leonard Bernstein
If you really want to change your brain waves, says Ilchi Lee, a good place to start is with a song. Consider for a moment the effect music has had on you in the past. I’m sure you have experienced your mood suddenly lifting when you hear a cheerful song on the radio. Perhaps the songs of your youth have the power to transport you back to a simpler place in time. Or maybe you have even been moved to tears by a grand symphony.
You may have even noticed that music can have an effect on your body. Unconsciously your foot begins tapping or your head bobs up and down in time to the rhythm. Occasionally, at some moment when you feel unrestrained by the need to retain personal decorum, you let loose and start dancing around the room. The way Ilchi Lee teaches Brain Wave Vibration is not too complicated and difficult at all. These are magical moments, brief segments of time during which you are transported beyond the limits of your body into the much larger, universal world of rhythm and movement.
