These have caused an endless cycle of war and conflict in the name of freedom, justice, and peace for individual groups. The freedom, justice, and peace gained from these wars are prejudicial by nature, focused on the needs of only one group, and achieved at the expense of another group or groups.

If you had to reduce all 81 letters of the ChunBuKyung into 1 letter, it would have to be “II.” “II” refers to One – One in Korean is called “Han.” “Han” refers to the source of all existence. “Han” describes the breath of the cosmos, the endless cycle of inhaling and exhaling of the process of creation and life. To know and experience this endlessness is the goal of every religious and spiritual tradition.

On a social level, this “Han” is the center point of all order and the basis of all value judgments. It is an alternative to the obsessive outward material expansion based upon competition and conflict, an alternative that will lead us away from the duality system that we live in into a system of trinity.
