UN NGO, IBREA with Ilchi Lee

June 20th 2008 was a historic day. At the UN, Brain Education is suggested as a tool to resolve humanity’s problem: globe warming, famine, destruction of ecosystems, loss of human nature.

Also I heard that this conference gave NGOs a lot of hope. In July 2007, the Korea Institute of Brain Science was designated a Brain Education NGO in consultative status with the UN.

IBREA planed to hold the event with 500 participants, but nobody believed that it could hold that big event, because any NGOs have had more than 160 participants at the UN events.

But on June 20th 2008, 500 people came to the UN from 10 countries for the Brain Education Conference. All the people in UN NGOs were surprised. One of them said “IBREA gave us the reason why we should exist. It showed us in which direction we should move.”

I expect a lot of works for the humanity done by IBREA.

If a person who claims to know her brain lives in this way, then she has been caught up in emotion. To say that she has been caught up in emotion is to say that her brain is tense. First, we must make our brains flexible and we must take back our brains from emotion. Only then can we make ourselves happy. That is healing. When our consciousness changes, our lives change immediately.

From Ilchi Lee’s book The Twelve EnlightenmentsEven God’s house has a garbage can.  The most negative information in the world is still information and, as such, has the right and hope to become realized.  Divine garbage or hell is a place that has the conditions in which this negative information can most readily attain reality.  When good information gathers, it creates the conditions under which it can prosper by expressing itself in reality.  When bad information gathers, it also creates the conditions under which it can be realized, leading down the path of ever worsening spiral.  We, as humanity, are standing at the edge of this narrow ledge.  One step either way and it will be difficult to reverse the direction.

Our brains actually start out as blank slates. They respond according to the pictures we draw on them. We must draw on our brains pictures of our own choosing. We have the right to do this. What kind of picture will you draw on your brain? Will you draw a peaceful picture? Will you draw a picture full of love? Will you draw a picture of growth or a picture of destruction? A brain continues to develop in the direction in which it is trained. If you use your right hand a lot beginning when you are very young, your right hand will develop; if you use your left hand more than your right hand, your left hand will develop. It’s the same principle. How will you train your brain? We have not been training our brains according to our own judgments. As a result of our social environments, many people have been controlling our brains without us even knowing it. Ultimately, we fail to become the masters of our brains; our environment plays this role instead. We were unable to choose information when we were young and just continued to accept it as it was given to us. We grew up in this process, through preschool, elementary school and so on, up to the present. As a result, our brains are not our own; they belong to our social environment. We must take a moment to determine whether the many bits of information in our brains serve to promote our own growth or exist for the sake of our society and country. Don’t we have the right to choose information? Will we have to accept certain information ourselves? We have the right to choose. And we must have the power to make judgments if we are to use that right.
