Our children..

Jaynel September 9th, 2007

“The most precious gift we can give our children is to let questions of the purpose of their existence grow naturally in them, and respond to their questions with the wisdom we have gained from our life experiences. Of course, our answer doesn’t automatically become theirs. They will each find their own path in life. It may be vastly different from ours, or it could be one that is an extension of our experience. In either case, having a sincere exchange about our passion and life purpose gives our children confidence. Their trust and respect for us will grow.”

Simplicity is BEST!

Jaynel September 8th, 2007

Ilchi Lee said “Be simple.” In the BEST 5 programs, our whole goal is to create HSP by being simple. Just see things as they are and through BEST 5 programs I have changed a lot in just the past few weeks. I feel lighter, happier, and clearer. I realize it was because I became simple…

YARN BALLS!!

Jaynel September 8th, 2007

Here is one way I release my stress. I made these balls its made out of plastic bags and yarn. You can tape and tightly wrap the plastic bags into a tight ball and then attach a braided yarn string to it. I swing them in circles and do many tricks. You can teach these to children to use their imagination. Sometimes I hit myself doing them but, its so much fun the hurting is fine. You should try it!!

[Disclaimer] This is also political

white September 8th, 2007

So I don’t really want to devolve into politics on this site, but just read an article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/05/AR2007090502466.html) about the government strategically tallying combat casualties in a way that supports their policy goals. The reason I post it here is because, well, it made me really wonder: How can we TOGETHER heal our society (all levels of community) when we do not seem to have this as a common goal?

my personal healing of society

white September 8th, 2007

So, I keep returning to the question of… What am I doing to heal my own society, my local community, my family community? What can I do today? What about tomorrow? How can I make this part of my life better? Today I think I will call my mom.

water

Have you ever stopped to consider water? It’s such a fundamental part of our world, our bodies, and our daily life, but how often do you consciously focus on it? Maybe when swimming, or getting soaked by water balloons, but…

Frustrated

white September 7th, 2007

How can I expect to improve the world if I don’t improve myself? Today I didn’t do any exercise, and I can feel it. I’ve been sitting all morning, and my neck is stiff — almost as stiff as my back :)   Some example I am! What would my students think if they knew? Hmmm.

Environmental Clean-up

tesoro September 7th, 2007

On Behalf of the Dahn Foundation we are organizing teams from the Dahn Yoga Centers to participate in their local beach and park clean-up this month.  As stewards of the earth we need to protect our coastlines and natural areas.  We will have class before and after the clean-up for early-risers and late-comers.  Please invite your friends and family to join in as well.  We can make competitions for the children to see who can collect the most trash!  It will create good habits for them to pick up litter whenever they see it.   The concept of responsibility for the earth is soemthing we need to impress among everyone, but especially our children!

Sharing Brain Education

tesoro September 6th, 2007

I had the opportunity to share Brain Education with 40 Child Care Givers last week.  We weren’t teaching them how to use it with their students, we just guided them to experience the program for themselves.   The Director of the program alsed us to come and give the training because she wanted her staff to nuture themselves more.  The entire group was so overwhelmingly happy to receive the trianing and were sincerely grateful to us for sharing it with them.  I couldn’t believe the response.  We felt like we were playing Santa Clause to children on Christmas Eve!  Their reception to the program has been a great inspiration to continue sharing it more and more!

Learning from our Children

tesoro September 6th, 2007

The personal enlightenment I gained through my four years of Ilchi Lee’s Dahnhak and Brain Respiration training, was to recognize the enlightenment in my pre-schooler, and for all young children for that matter.  The simplicity, the wisdom and purity of my son’s observations were truly profound.  I realized that we are born enlightened.  There is no way to learn about or to achieve enlightenment.  As adults it is just in realizing that we already have it that we can begin to live out our enlightenment.
