Bright Intelligence and Powerful Joy

admin September 27th, 2008

The way to overcome doubt is not by blind belief, but through a knowing or awareness, the true source of intelligence. When you “know” something for sure, then doubt automatically disappears. The human transition, from an age of belief to an age of knowledge, was heralded by unforgettable words uttered by a famous scientist about six hundred years ago: “But the Earth still rotates around the sun.” Doubt has always been necessary for protection from danger we could not sense or see. However, as we develop the ability to perceive whatever danger lurks, we no longer need this protective mechanism. When we have outgrown the need for doubt, we will finally be able to think as we wish and will no longer be led by uncontrolled thinking.

Fear has an even greater presence in our lives. Emotions in the limbic system can be classified into two basic categories… fear and love. Based on these two simple emotions, an action of advancement or retreat, acceptance or refusal, is determined. The energy of love is expressed in human desire to socialize and become a part of a community. The energy of fear is characterized by desire to avoid pain or, failing that, to fight. How can we possibly overcome such deeply rooted instinct?

When we become angry, fear takes one step back. When we feel courage, fear takes two steps back. However, it is always on call to rush back to our side in times of need. When we feel joy, we feel fear melt away. Fear and the associated negative emotions that it gives rise to all melt away in the presence of genuine joy. When we can utilize the power of joy to overcome fear, we can then fully use the capabilities of our limbic system. We will no longer be led by our emotions. We will instead lead them.

Doctor Ilchi Lee says that the most effective way to generate joy is by smiling and playing. This is simple perhaps, but profoundly true. It’s the reason why smiling and playing is a significant part of training in Brain Respiration. Joy generated by smiling and playing will melt the fear in our hearts or, more precisely, our limbic system, and will allow us to activate its potential. Only when we overcome doubt and tear with bright intelligence and powerful joy will we access and utilize the full potential of our brain.

According to DahnYoga rules the neo-cortex gives us the ability for introspection and creativity. Together with energy and information these give us power of life and death over all life on Earth, including our own. Now we are ready to use this power to look deep within ourselves… deeper than ever before… to meet with the source of life. The moment of meeting the life source within is the moment of our enlightenment. And through the power of collective enlightenment we will create the harmony and wisdom to establish a civilization based on harmonious order.

Ilchi Lee on Brain Flexibility

passion October 2nd, 2007

From a translated lecture by Ilchi Lee Many people can’t play with their brains; instead, they live treating their brains as if they are delicate and untouchable. If a person who claims to know her brain lives in this way, then she has been caught up in emotion. To say that she has been caught up in emotion is to say that her brain is tense. First, we must make our brains flexible and we must take back our brains from emotion. Only then can we make ourselves happy. That is healing. When our consciousness changes, our lives change immediately.

Let’s keep our brains flexible!!

Ilchi Lee: The Choice between Negative and Positive Information

passion October 2nd, 2007

From Ilchi Lee’s book The Twelve EnlightenmentsEven God’s house has a garbage can.  The most negative information in the world is still information and, as such, has the right and hope to become realized.  Divine garbage or hell is a place that has the conditions in which this negative information can most readily attain reality.  When good information gathers, it creates the conditions under which it can prosper by expressing itself in reality.  When bad information gathers, it also creates the conditions under which it can be realized, leading down the path of ever worsening spiral.  We, as humanity, are standing at the edge of this narrow ledge.  One step either way and it will be difficult to reverse the direction.

Let’s make positive information attain reality…

Ilchi Lee: Trust

passion October 2nd, 2007

From Ilchi Lee’s  site

Prove Yourself To Your Brain While you need to trust your brain, you have to allow your brain to trust you. To secure the confidence of your brain, you must check yourself regularly, again and again, because we are all subject to all types of doubts and fears. It is not through your thoughts or words, but rather through your actions that you can really check yourself. Through your actions, you must show yourself what kind of person you are, persuade your brain of this, and win your brain’s total trust. If you think a lot, but do not act, it shows that your brain power is not yet adequate. Your brain is failing to send a signal powerful enough to move your body. No creation is possible without action. Nothing meaningful at all happens without action.

We are trapped in the bodies when we are ignorant of the soul. But the body becomes a tool of infinite creation when we become aware of the existence of the soul.

Learn acceptance from the Earth, which gives birth to and nourishes all things in its wide embrace. Learn reliability from the Earth, which firmly supports all things, enabling them to be at rest and bring their lives into full bloom.

Have no shame in your mind. Straighten your body, and stand tall in the world. Those who are enlightened straighten their bodies and are always composed. Those who do not have right mind tend to hide and carry things out secretly and bend their bodies and try to please others.

A unique style of yoga - simple, powerful, effective

Unique Style of Yoga
Simple, Powerful, Effective

Dahn Yoga (also known as Dahn Hak® or Dahnhak®) is a holistic health and training program that empowers individuals to manage their own bodies well in order to become more healthy, happy and peaceful. Dahn Yoga Centers accomplish this mission through the creation of tools to foster the health and well-being of the individual, family and society as a whole.

In Korean, “Dahn” means energy, vitality, and origin of life, and “Hak” means study, philosophy, and theory. Dahnhak is the study of energy (Ki, Chi) and how to use it for personal empowerment by restoring mind/body communication.

Each Basic Yoga class in a Dahn Yoga studio includes stretching, breathing and relaxation techniques, meditation, martial arts and energy work. For those with diverse interests, Dahn Yoga also offers special programs, workshops, retreats and other advanced-level training opportunities. At Dahn Yoga, there is something for everyone.

In 2006, Dahn Yoga introduced two exciting new training methods. The first, DahnMuDo, also referred to as “The Art of Being Limitless,” is an energy-based, non-combative, healing martial art and Qigong. This mind-body training method combines martial arts movements with Dahn energy principles to quickly strengthen the body and correct structural problems, while also stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities. The Jung Choong Breathing method, developed by a senior Dahn instructor, and researched over the last five years, heals and revitalizes the body by accumulating energy and improving circulation.Through five simple postures focusing on breathing and proper positioning of the body, practitioners can release stagnant energy, while accumulating fresh, new energy in the lower abdomen, also known as the Dahn-Jon (energy center) or 2nd Chakra, a vital energy center in the body, according to Oriental medicine theory.

Since the first Dahn Yoga Center opened in 1985, the practice has grown to some 600 centers worldwide, with some 200,000 active members in 7 countries (50,000 in the United States).
