Change

edward September 16th, 2007

(From time to time I stay in my inside quitely, looking for the unchangeable thing )

“Transience is the most general phenomenon of the cosmos. Change is the only changeless reality. Seasons, livelihoods, personal relationships—all of these will change. Continue Reading »

East vs. West on ego and enlightenment

white September 11th, 2007

I had a really interesting conversation recently about one difference between Eastern and Western approaches to spiritual growth and enlightenment. In grossly oversimplified terms, we decided that the Eastern approach is to overcome the ego until it’s gone, while the Western approach is to develop the ego until it grows to a higher level of awareness (”evolves”, as it were).

What do you think?

Checking…

Jaynel September 10th, 2007

We need to check ourselves! Every moment. Have we checked?

What do we all want?

Ilchi Lee’s statement on peace:

“It is now time to acknowledge the ultimate and core value that is capable of encompassing and superceding the partial and prejudicial orientation of the current value systems of the world. It is the one that can become a fulcrum point that will allow balance, harmony, and peaceful coexistence of all people. This is the Earth. The Earth cannot be claimed by any one group or organization regardless of its size or power. If humanity can be said to share one collective vision, it would be peace on Earth. This collective vision may also be our hope for survival in the very near future. To realize that we are all Earth-Humans…this is the key.”

So many different groups according to cultures, religion, advocacy, and so on and so on, have been coming together for centuries to create a value system and adhere to them the best that reality would allow. Because most of these different value systems are in conflict with each other in some way or another, discrimination, judgement and, in the most extreme cases, warfare ensue.

If everyone has different value systems that they’re willing to fight and die for, how do we know what to believe in the end?

Is there nothing that every single person in this world can agree on 100%?

This is what Ilchi Lee is trying to make the world see: the only undeniable fact and value that EVERYONE can agree with is that we’re all people of this Earth and that we all want to find a way to live with each other peacefully and harmoniously.

If every person could really feel this fact in their hearts and always remember what the ultimate goal is, then all the differences would eventually resolve themselves. However, in trying to figure out the different approaches to the same thing, people have become so caught up in the process that they’ve come to see the process and method as the end to gain itself.

So what will you choose to live for today? The ultimate goal or the struggles of the different paths to get there?

For myself, I choose to be an Earth-human. :)

[Disclaimer] This is also political

white September 8th, 2007

So I don’t really want to devolve into politics on this site, but just read an article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/05/AR2007090502466.html) about the government strategically tallying combat casualties in a way that supports their policy goals. The reason I post it here is because, well, it made me really wonder: How can we TOGETHER heal our society (all levels of community) when we do not seem to have this as a common goal?

water

Have you ever stopped to consider water? It’s such a fundamental part of our world, our bodies, and our daily life, but how often do you consciously focus on it? Maybe when swimming, or getting soaked by water balloons, but…

What does it mean when I feel tired?

Jaynel September 7th, 2007

There are many reasons why you feel tired. Whether it is a long day at work or taking care of your family, many outside circumstances can make a person tired. Too much stimulation can affect your energy level.

Simply there are two main reasons why you feel tired.

Either you have NO energy or have TOO MUCH energy!

Ask yourself these 2 questions:

 1) Did I take a BREATH? A minute to BREATHE?

  2) Did I take a few minutes to EAT? Did I SLEEP well?

Simply you just need to REALEASE and ACCUMULATE.

At the dahn center I learn how to do these things. I was so surprise how just doing 1 minute of meditation after tea time, I felt a huge REALEASE and Peace of mind.  Each moment I check myself and ask myself those 2 questions.  If I didn’t do any of them, that is why I’m tired.

TOO much energy means TOO MUCH STAGNANT energy is stored in my body unconsciously. So, to release I must take 10 deep BREATHS in and Out. Shake and Sweep and move my body to release what is inside.

NO ENERGY means I need to ACCUMULATE energy so eating well and sleepinng well is important. We gain energy through breathing, eating and sleeping.

Simply learn how to RELEASE and how to ACCUMULATE and you will continue to have a Healthier, Happier and Peaceful life. :)

Frustrated

white September 7th, 2007

How can I expect to improve the world if I don’t improve myself? Today I didn’t do any exercise, and I can feel it. I’ve been sitting all morning, and my neck is stiff — almost as stiff as my back :)  Some example I am! What would my students think if they knew? Hmmm.
