On Behalf of the Dahn Foundation we are organizing teams from the Dahn Yoga Centers to participate in their local beach and park clean-up this month. As stewards of the earth we need to protect our coastlines and natural areas. We will have class before and after the clean-up for early-risers and late-comers. Please invite your friends and family to join in as well. We can make competitions for the children to see who can collect the most trash! It will create good habits for them to pick up litter whenever they see it. The concept of responsibility for the earth is soemthing we need to impress among everyone, but especially our children!

Next time you are not feeling very inspired, please go outside and find a plant. It can be a tree, a weed, a huge flowering bush — anything living and growing from the earth.
Take a real close look at this plant. Marvel at its detail, its delicacy, its strength. See where its environment has damaged it, or where it is putting out new growth. In the fall, look at how it is preparing to sleep all winter.
Isn’t nature cool?

Visiting the Sedona Ilchi Lee Meditation Center in Arizona, I have been able to experience a deeper connection to nature than I ever thought possible. Doing Dahnmudo and Dahn Yoga on the Red Rocks of Sedona is the best place to exercise, relax, breath and meditate. You can tap into the healing energy of the Earth without even trying to. The connection occurs so naturally!

Sometimes I play this game to help little kids keep from getting bored: “What is your favorite color? Favorite food? Favorite place to pick flowers?”
What is your favorite?
